Opening Gala

Join us as we Celebrate the beginning of the 2nd WEFTFest. Friday May 17th starting at 5pm we will begin the Fibre Art Auction and Introduce the artists, vendors, designers, participants, partners and sponsors. Free entry with a Cash Bar

Fibre Art Show and Auction

The Fibre Art Show and Auction features a wide variety of Fibre Art. The Auction is available online with the bidding closing during our Gala on May 26th. See the work live at the TriSisters Art House, place your bids and keep bidding until the end of the festival. Join us at the Gala and if you win you can take your piece home with you.

Quilt Display

The WEFTFest Quilt Display is free to attend and is hosted at the St. Jacobs Mennonite Church. On display are quilts that have been submitted by a variety of quilters and designers. Enjoy the show, get inspired and vote for you favourite to win the People’s Choice Award. The Award winner will be announced at the Closing Gala Sunday May 26th. Open 10am – 5pm everyday except Sundays. Sundays open 12pm – 5pm. Free Entry

Speakers and Workshops:

Saturday May 18th 3:00pm: Quilting in the Loft with Robin Porritt-Bogaert

Robin will share her extensive quilting knowledge and a story of her “Significant Quilts” which is sure to inspire! Robin’s work includes thread painting, ruler work, piecing and lots of colour. She will discuss works of art made for blogs like quiltsocial.com and blog.bernina.com. Robin is a BERNINA International Brand Ambassador and passionate about BERNINA Sewing Machines $10.00

Sunday May 19th 12:00pm: DIY Embroidery Design: tips and tricks for making your own embroidery patterns with Shannon Quigley

Join Shannon Quigley of Creative Confidence to discover 7 different ways to transfer designs onto fabric to create your own embroidery patterns. $10.00

Sunday May 19th 3:00pm: A Grand Fabrication; Truth, Tales and Art of a Heritage River with Jax Rula and Alison Hall

Join Jax and Alison as they tell the story of the Grand River Watershed through Doll and Felting Art. $10

Friday May 24th 12pm: The Grand River Quilt Project with Pat Flood

Join theatre designer and artist, Pat Flood for a look at the Grand River Quilt Project. This is part of a larger project celebrating the Grand River in art, storytelling, theatre and music. Over the past two years, this group has been travelling along the Grand River meeting people, organizing story circles and performing.

Saturday May 25th 12:00pm: Tumbler Quilts with Valerie Prideaux

Join Valerie as she shares her quilting journey exploring the tumbler block. The tumbler block is a versatile yet simple way to explore colour and design which got Valerie through the COVID lockdown. It was such a fun project for her to do that she wrote a book about it; Tumbler Quilts: Just One Shape, Endless Possibilities.

Vendors Market

Monday May 20 – Wednesday May 22 10am – 6pm at the Timber Barn 8 Spring St St. Jacobs. A variety of vendors will be selling fibre art related supplies and items. Free entry.

Artistic Apparel Fashion Show

Thursday May 23 at the St. George Banquet Hall. There are 2 sittings set for this fashion show. The Lunch sitting at 12:30 and the dinner sitting at 5pm. Both include a plated meal.

Artistic Apparel Fashion designers will be available to the public between sittings of the fashion show.

Partnering with the Omas Siskona to raise funds for the Stephen Lewis Foundation there will also be a silent auction set for both sittings

Guild Show

Friday May 24th and Saturday May 25th 10am – 5pm enjoy a variety of Fibre Art forms at the Guild Show. Hosted at the St. Jacobs Mennonite Church several guilds will have guild information, samples, demos and items for sale. Free Entry

Closing Gala

Another successful festival deserves a celebration. Sunday May 26th starting at 5pm we will be enjoying cocktails and festivities as we give thanks to all those who participated. We will declare the winner of the Peoples Choice award for the Quilt Show and experience the last few hours of the Fibre Arts Auction. Free entry with a Cash Bar
